In line with this vision, we have developed a safe, child and teen-friendly platform designed to support and promote healthy social interaction among young people. We fully acknowledge the role of social media in shaping digital relationships and recognize our critical responsibility to uphold global best practices in child protection, particularly in preventing exploitation, abuse, and child trafficking.
This policy affirms Appmosphere’s zero-tolerance stance on child trafficking and any form of abuse that endangers the safety, dignity, or rights of minors on our platform. It outlines our strategic and proactive measures to prevent, detect, and respond to suspicious activity or abusive behaviour involving children and teenagers. It also highlights our unwavering commitment to working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, child protection organizations, and industry partners to uphold the highest standards of online child safety.

This policy applies to all users, developers, content creators, moderators, and partners engaging with the Appmosphere platform.
1. Policy Purpose
This policy outlines the measures Appmophere takes to prevent, detect, and report any form of child trafficking or exploitation on our platform, in compliance with relevant laws, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the relevant sections of the App Store Review Guidelines under Section 1(1) 4 and 1(2).
2. Zero Tolerance
Statement Appmosphere maintains a strict and unwavering zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of child trafficking, child sexual exploitation, online grooming, and any act of abuse or coercion involving minors. These behaviours represent serious human rights violations and criminal offences under national and international law, and are strictly prohibited on our platform.
We are committed to upholding the safety, dignity, and welfare of every child and adolescent who interacts with our application. In doing so, we proactively implement safeguards to identify, prevent, and respond to any form of abuse targeting or involving minors.
2.1 Prohibited Conduct
The following acts are explicitly forbidden and will result in immediate and permanent removal from the platform, as well as potential criminal investigation:
- Child Trafficking: Use of the platform to facilitate, promote, or engage in the movement, transfer, recruitment, harbouring, or exploitation of minors for sexual, forced labour, or criminal exploitation.
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Creation, possession, sharing, solicitation, or promotion of any content depicting child sexual abuse, whether real or simulated.
- Grooming: Any conduct intended to establish an emotional connection with a child to lower their inhibitions and prepare them for sexual exploitation.
- Solicitation of Minors: Requesting or offering explicit content, meetings, or favours involving underage users.
- Impersonation or Deception: Creating false profiles, misrepresenting age, or using deceptive tactics to gain the trust of minors.
2.2 Enforcement and Sanctions
Where a violation of this policy is confirmed or reasonably suspected, Appmosphere will take swift and decisive enforcement actions, including but not limited to:
- Immediate account suspension and permanent ban
- Deletion of illegal or exploitative content
- Device and IP address blocking
- Preservation of evidence in line with data protection laws
- Escalation to relevant authorities and child protection agencies such as: National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Nigeria, National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), U.S, Interpol Crimes Against Children Unit, and Local law enforcement agencies based on the user’s jurisdiction
3. Detection and Reporting Mechanisms
To enhance enforcement capabilities, Appmosphere implements a comprehensive, multi-layered detection system designed to address various aspects of content moderation and safeguard the welfare of our community. This system includes the following advanced components:
- AI-Powered Content Moderation and Behavioural Analysis: Our cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms are designed to detect and analyse inappropriate content and user behaviours with remarkable precision. This technology leverages machine learning to continuously improve its accuracy, enabling us to proactively identify violations and mitigate harmful interactions before they escalate.
- Hash Matching Utilizing Industry Databases: We employ sophisticated hash matching techniques in conjunction with established industry databases, such as PhotoDNA. This allows us to identify known images of child exploitation and other harmful materials, ensuring that prohibited content is swiftly and effectively removed from our platform.
- User Reporting Tools for Community-Based Alerts: Recognizing the vital role our users play in maintaining a safe environment, we provide accessible and intuitive reporting tools that empower the community to alert us to questionable content or behaviour. This collaborative approach not only enhances our monitoring capabilities but also fosters a sense of shared responsibility and vigilance among our users.
- Real-Time Content Review by Specialized Moderators: Our platform is supported by a dedicated team of trained moderators who possess expertise in child protection and sensitivity to the nuances of online safety. These professionals conduct real-time reviews of flagged content, ensuring that appropriate action is taken swiftly to protect our community and uphold our content standards. Through this robust detection system, Appmosphere is committed to maintaining a safe and secure digital environment for all users, positioning child protection and content integrity at the forefront of our operational priorities.
4. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
This policy has been formulated in strict adherence to all relevant laws and international standards, including but not limited to the following:
- United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
- U.S. PROTECT Act (2003)
- Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) – USA
- Child Rights Act (2003) – Nigeria
- General Data Protection Regulation for Children (GDPR-K) – EU
- Apple App Store Review Guidelines (Section 1.1.4: Offensive Content)

5. Age Restrictions and Verification
Appmosphere is committed to fostering a safe and engaging environment for our younger users. To this end, we have implemented a comprehensive policy designed to promote and enhance the active participation of users aged 13 and older, or in accordance with the local age of digital consent. This initiative reflects our dedication to empowering young individuals while ensuring their online safety and well-being.
Minors under 18 are not permitted to create public profiles without verified guardian consent.
We implement AI moderation, reporting tools, and manual review to flag suspicious age falsification or inappropriate behaviour.
6. Monitoring and Detection
- Contents are monitored using a combination of automated tools and trained human moderators.
- We use hash databases (like PhotoDNA) to detect known Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
- Suspicious patterns (e.g., older users contacting minors, attempts to move conversations off-platform) are flagged.
7. User Reporting and Response
- Users can report content or profiles suspected of exploiting children.
- Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by a specialized safety team.
- Verified reports result in immediate removal of content and, if applicable, escalation to child protection authorities.
8. Staff Training and Review Protocol
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and vigilance within our organization. To this end, all moderation and safety personnel undergo comprehensive training that encompasses the following key areas:
- Identification of Grooming Behaviours: Staff are educated on the signs and patterns associated with grooming, empowering them to recognize potential risks effectively.
- Response to Trafficking Reports: Training includes protocols for responding to and managing reports related to trafficking, ensuring that staff can act swiftly and appropriately in such situations.
- Mandatory Reporting Protocols: Staff are well-versed in mandatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.
In addition to initial training, we implement regular audits to assess compliance with established safety standards and to adapt to emerging threats. This ongoing review process ensures that our staff remains equipped to address the dynamic challenges of safety and risk management.
9. Law Enforcement Cooperation
We are committed to fully cooperating with law enforcement and recognized child protection agencies. Data related to suspected abuse is preserved and disclosed in strict compliance with:
- Local privacy and child protection laws
- Apple’s Developer Program License Agreement (DPLA)
Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of children while maintaining adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
10. User Education
We provide in-app education on:
- Recognizing online grooming
- Safe digital practices
- Reporting abuse
Educational prompts and reminders are sent to both minors and guardians.
